Waldent Bird Beak – Short Pliers 10/128 is a very popular and versatile utility plier designed for working round wires upto 0.030” in diameter. The round beak is precision ground to a perfect cone.

• Preparation: Ensure that the Waldent Bird Beak – Short Plier is clean and free from any debris or contaminants before use. If necessary, sterilize the plier according to standard sterilization protocols.

• Selecting the Wire: Choose the appropriate round wire for the specific orthodontic procedure. The plier is designed to handle wires up to 0.030” in diameter.

• Grasping the Wire: Hold the plier firmly in your dominant hand. Use the round or pyramid-shaped short beak, depending on the desired manipulation of the wire.

• Positioning: Carefully position the beak of the plier on the desired point along the length of the wire.

• Applying Pressure: With gentle and controlled pressure, squeeze the handles of the plier to grip the wire securely between the beaks. Ensure that the pressure applied is sufficient to manipulate the wire effectively but not too much to cause damage.

• Manipulation: Once the wire is securely held between the beaks, manipulate it as required for the orthodontic procedure. This may involve bending, twisting, or shaping the wire according to the treatment plan.
