Description

Wamkey is a set of three instruments designed to remove crowns quickly, easily and without damaging the margins or the bulk of the crown. The clinician drills a small horizontal hole through the crown and enlarges it until seeing the level of the cement layer. Then a tunnel is drilled through this window until reaching the centre of the preparation. Then the WAMkey, which has an oval profile, is inserted into the hole and rotated to raise th crown along its vertical axis. Crowns and bridges can be reused after any underlying treatment has been completed. When replaced, the access hole is simply sealed with an appropriate shade of composite.

Wamkey patented unique, gentle separating action allows the crown to follow the path of least resistance. In fact, it will look for the weakest point and gently de-bond the cement. Without pain to your patient, and with no risk of damage.WAMkey disassociates the crown from its abutment without applying ANY traction or tensile forces, or sideways movement. Wamkey doesnt pull the crown off, it actually PUSHES it off from underneath. Thus, there is no risk to fracture the tooth or to remove the build-up underneath.

Direction of use

STEP 1: Locate the most accessible spot on the crown. The goal is to estimate the cement layer level between the occlusal surface of the abutment and the inner side of the crown itself.

STEP 2: Drilla thin horizontal window in the crown.

STEP 3: Enlarge this windowuntil you can see the cement layer through the window.

STEP 4: Then, after having checked that the slot is at the cement level,deepen the hole until it reaches the centre of the tooth preparation.

STEP 5: Slightly extend the hole to form an horizontal rectangle.

STEP 6: Finally, introduce the key down to the bottom of the slot andmake a simple rotationon the handle.The crown is removed!
