Direction to Use

Preparation:

• Ensure the autoclave is clean and in proper working condition.
• Check the water level in the reservoir and add distilled water if necessary.
• Load the items to be sterilized, making sure they are arranged to allow steam penetration.

Setting Parameters:

• Power on the autoclave and allow it to complete its initial warm-up phase.
• Set the desired sterilization parameters such as temperature, pressure, and cycle duration.

Loading:

• Place the items to be sterilized in sterilization pouches or containers designed for autoclaving.
• Avoid overloading to ensure effective steam penetration and sterilization.

Closing and Locking:

• Close the autoclave door securely, ensuring a proper seal.
• Engage any locking mechanisms, both electrical and mechanical, if applicable.

Running the Cycle:

• Start the sterilization cycle as per the specified settings.
• Monitor the autoclave during the cycle for any alarms or indicators.

Cooling and Venting:

• Once the sterilization cycle completes, allow the autoclave to cool down and vent the steam before opening the door.
• Some autoclaves may have automatic venting features.

Unloading:

• Carefully open the autoclave door, following any safety precautions.
• Remove sterilized items using sterile techniques.

Record Keeping:

• Maintain a log of each sterilization cycle, including date, time, temperature, and pressure. This is important for quality control and compliance.
