Reliance Ortho Porc Etch – Porcelain Etching

Reliance Ortho Porc Etch is meticulously formulated as a specialized porcelain etching agent, vital for preparing porcelain crowns in orthodontic bonding procedures. This product combines Porc-Etch and Barrier Gel, offering a comprehensive solution for effective surface preparation. Porc-Etch facilitates the etching process, creating an optimal bonding surface, while Barrier Gel safeguards surrounding areas from undesired etching effects. With its precise formulation and packaging containing 7g of Porc-Etch and 3ml of Barrier Gel, Reliance Ortho Porc Etch streamlines the bonding process. It plays a crucial role in ensuring robust and enduring adhesion of orthodontic appliances to porcelain surfaces. Simplifying the intricate procedure, this product contributes significantly to the overall success and durability of orthodontic treatments involving porcelain crowns.

  • Store at room temperature (15-25ºC).

  • 1 x Barrier Gel 3ml

Direction to Use

  • Preparation: Place a rubber dam to protect the gingiva and soft tissues from contact with Porc-Etch™, which contains 4% hydrofluoric acid.
  • Surface Preparation: Prophy and sandblast the surface intended for bonding. Thoroughly rinse and dry the area.
  • Isolation and Barrier Gel Application: Isolate the surrounding area and apply Reliance Barrier Gel to protect the gingiva. Then, apply a thin coat of Porc-Etch™ to the porcelain crown surface.
  • Etching Process: Allow Porc-Etch™ to sit on the surface for 4 minutes. Afterward, wipe it off with a cotton roll or gauze pad. Rinse the area thoroughly with water, using high-speed suction.
  • Porcelain Conditioning: Dry the surface thoroughly and apply one thin coat of Reliance Porcelain Conditioner. Wait for 2 minutes and ensure thorough air drying.
  • Application of Adhesive: Apply one coat of Assure® Plus to the conditioned porcelain surface. Lightly air dry and then light cure.
  • Placement of Adhesive and Bracket: Proceed with placing the adhesive and bracket according to standard orthodontic procedures.
