The Mytest Cardiac NTroBNP Test is a lateral flow chromatographic immunoassay for the semiquantitative detection of Nerminal pro Bype natriuretic peptide (NTroBNP) protein in human serum, plasma, or whole blood
It is intended to be used as a screening test and as an aid in the diagnosis of congestive heart failure
It is meant for in vitro diagnostic use only

NTroBNP is a nonactive prohormone that is released from the same molecule that produces BNP. Both BNP and NTroBNP are released in response to changes in pressure inside the heart. These changes can be related to heart failure and other cardiac problems.
