Direction to Use
- Patient Evaluation: Begin by evaluating the patient’s dental condition to determine the need for crown restoration on a primary molar. Ensure that the tooth is prepared for crown placement.
- Crown Selection: Choose the appropriate crown size and shape from the kit based on the patient’s tooth morphology and needs. Ensure that the selected crown matches the tooth’s occlusal surface and contour.
- Preparation: Prepare the tooth by removing any decayed or damaged areas and shaping it to accommodate the crown. Make sure the tooth is clean and dry.
- Crown Adjustment: Check the fit of the selected crown on the prepared tooth. It should cover the tooth completely without any gaps. If necessary, make any adjustments to the crown’s size or shape using dental instruments.
- Cementation: Apply a dental cement (appropriate for stainless steel crowns) inside the crown and then carefully place it on the prepared tooth. Ensure that the crown is seated properly and fits snugly over the tooth.
- Excess Cement Removal: Remove any excess cement around the crown margins to ensure a clean and proper fit. Pay attention to the cervical margin to avoid any irritation to the gingival tissue.
- Bite Adjustment: Check the patient’s bite to ensure that it aligns correctly with the new crown. Make any necessary adjustments to the occlusal surface of the crown to prevent bite interference.
- Final Evaluation: Examine the crown’s fit, contour, and occlusion once again to ensure it meets the desired specifications and does not interfere with the patient’s bite.
- Patient Instructions: Provide the patient with post-operative care instructions, including advice on oral hygiene and any dietary restrictions if necessary.
- Follow-Up: Schedule a follow-up appointment to monitor the crown’s performance and ensure there are no issues with irritation, discomfort, or bite problems.
