Direction to Use
Patient Assessment:
- Ensure the primary molar is well-isolated, clean, and dry.
- Verify that the crown size matches the tooth.
Tooth Preparation:
- Remove any carious or unsupported tooth structure.
- Shape the tooth to accommodate the crown. It may be necessary to reduce the occlusal surface and adjust the height as needed.
Crown Selection:
- Choose the appropriate crown size and shape that fits the prepared tooth snugly.
Crown Verification:
- Place the selected crown on the tooth to ensure proper fit and adjust if necessary.
Crown Contouring:
- Adjust the crown margins if required for an optimal fit.
Crown Cementation:
- If using an etchant, apply it to the tooth’s surface, rinse, and dry.
- Apply adhesive resin cement to the interior surface of the crown.
- Seat the crown onto the prepared tooth with firm, even pressure.
Excess Cement Removal:
- Use a dental explorer or probe to carefully remove any excess cement around the margins.
