The 3M IV Kit for Peripheral Lines is meant for IV site care of peripheral devices and safe & secure catheter placement
The kit has 4 items:
Latex free tourniquet
Chlorhexidine Gluconate (CHG) swab
Tegaderm 1633 dressing (transparent film dressing with border)8.5cm * 7cm
Sterile gauze swab
The film is breathable thus allowing for moisture and oxygen exchange
The CHG swab contains 2% CHG and 70% IPA (isopropyl alcohol) and is meant for prepping the insertion site
The sterile gauze swab is used to handle any back flash from the site
The latex free tourniquet is a single use device and meant for location of the vein
The adhesive is latex free and hence hypoallergenic
The dressing is conformable to the shape of the skin
