Softlaps is a laparotomy sponge used in operation theatres for the absorption of blood and other bodily fluids
It is white in colour and made from 100% cotton gauze fabric

These sponges are available in non sterile packaging
All four edges are sealed to prevent the deposition of lint residue in the body of the patient and they are tied in bundles of 5 with red threads for ease in counting protocols
They are available in 4, 6, 8, 12 and 16 ply
