GDC Periosteal Elevator Seldin (P23)
Used to elevate and/or detach the periosteum (membrane of fibrous connective tissue tightly surrounding bone) from the underlying bone by a pushing action usually applied along the longitudinal axis of the bone. It is typically a one-piece instrument made of high-grade stainless steel.
Seldin Periosteal Elevator is used to remove soft tissue and periosteum, most commonly in oral and plastic surgery. In oral surgery, it can further be used to
loosen and remove the tooth.

- Lever Principal
- Wheel Principal
- Wheel & Axle Principal
RULES OF ELEVATORS USAGE:
- Palm grip
- Don’t use the neighboring tooth as a fulcrum
- Don’t use the buccal or lingual plate of bone as a fulcrum
- Use the left hand for reflection, guard, and support
- Follow root curvature during extraction”
