Description
Kids-e-Dental Distal Shoe Loops Pack of 5
It is a pre-formed space maintainer used in pediatric dentistry to prevent pre-mature loss of space and preventfirst permanent molars from moving mesially with the premature loss of second primary molars. The example shown is a crown with a distal extension segment soldered to the crown.
Indications:
- Premature loss or extraction of the second primary molar prior to the eruption of the first permanent molar.
- Advanced root resorption and periapical bone destruction of the second primary molar prior to the eruption of the first permanentmolar.
- A primary second molar with advanced caries that is not restorable
- Ectopic eruption of the permanent first molar
- Ankylosis of the primary second molar.

Direction to Use
BANDING:
- Band with tube is selected by trial fitting. A band pusher and band adapter are used to fit and adapt the band around the tooth.
SELECT & ADJUST SPACE COMPONENT:
- A wire component is selected to act as the spacer, straight and curved loop for the band and loop space maintainer, and the distal shoe for distal shoe space maintainer cases.
INSERT SPACE COMPONENT & CHECK FIT:
- Slide the wire into the tube of the band. Place the band on the tooth and check if the space maintainer is fitting properly with the space component resting on the supporting tooth.
CRIMPING BAND TUBE & SPACE COMPONENT:
- Keep the e-crimper at the center of the tube and do partial crimping intraorally. Remove the space maintainer and do final crimping extraorally.
CEMENTATION:
- Clean and dry the band. Isolate and dry the tooth. Mix luting cement and apply on the inner surface of the band. Seat the band on the tooth using a band pusher or band adapter. Remove excess cement after cement sets.
