The Smith & Nephew Opsite Flexigrid is a transparent, adhesive, clear, waterproof film dressing, which is bacteria proof & provides a moist wound healing environment for superficial wounds
The film is conformable & extensible & can be used as a secondary dressing
The Smith & Nephew Opsite Flexigrid Film Dressing has a unique wound management grid which allows simple & accurate assessments of the wound healing process
This grid enables the tracing of the edges of the wound into the Flexigrid carrier which can be stored in the patients medical file
The film has a high moisture vapour permeability & can be left for upto 7 days thus minimising interference at the wound site & reducing the amount of nursing resources required
The film is waterproof & the patient can bathe without changing the dressing
The film has an easy application technique which enables single handed application & can adapt to even the awkard areas of the body
Indicated uses:
Superficial wounds Shallow pressure sores, minor cuts, burns & abrasions
It can be used as a secondary dressing
It can be used to provide catheter fixation
Precautions: The Opsite Flexigrid dressing should be used on clinically infected wounds only if the relevant treatment protocols are followed under medical supervision. Extra supervision may be required for patients with diabetes & low immunity
