Ionofil Plus Refill Liquid 10ml:
- 1 x 10ml Bottle.
Ionofil Plus Refill Powder 15g:
- 1 x 15g Bottle
Direction to Use
Preparation:
- Ensure the operating site is dry when placing the filling, as glass ionomer cements are sensitive to moisture.
- If additional retention is required, undercuts can be utilized. The layer thickness of the fillings should not be less than 1 mm, and Class V cavities should be at least 1 mm deep.
- In cases of carious defects, prepare the cavity accordingly, clean it, rinse thoroughly with water, and dry the area. If there is approximately 1-1.5 mm of residual dentine thickness, no additional lining is necessary. For areas close to the pulp (less than approximately 1-1.5 mm), use pulp protection to prevent irritations.
- Shake the powder before use.
- Place the powder and liquid on a glass plate or a suitable mixing pad.
- Mix the powder and liquid in portions, starting with small amounts and working up to larger quantities. The recommended mix ratio is 4.7-5.6 g of powder to 1 g of liquid.
- Always hold the liquid bottle vertically when dispensing drops.
- Use a solid plastic spatula for mixing. The mixing time should not exceed 1 minute, typically lasting 30-40 seconds.
- The working time following mixing is approximately 2-3 minutes (at a temperature of 15-23degrees C).
- After introducing Ionofil Plus into the cavity, it will set within approximately 2.5 minutes.
Application:
- Ensure that the operating site remains dry during placement, as glass ionomer cements are sensitive to moisture, including breath and saliva during the setting phase.
- If possible, apply a protective varnish immediately to protect against moisture.
- After Ionofil Plus has set (typically 5-6 minutes after application, depending on mixing temperature and ratio), remove any excess material and perform finishing using flexible discs.
- Coat with varnish again.
- The best finishing results are typically achieved approximately 24 hours after placing the filling.
