- 1 x Extraction Forcep
Direction to Use
- Prepare the patient: Ensure the patient is seated comfortably in the dental chair and explain the procedure to them.
- Administer local anesthesia: Numb the area surrounding the tooth to be extracted using an appropriate local anesthetic technique.
- Select the appropriate forceps: Choose the GDC Extraction Forceps Upper Roots Pedo Preimum(FX7CP) specifically designed for pediatric upper root extractions.
- Inspect the forceps: Before use, carefully inspect the forceps for any damage, defects, or signs of wear. If any issues are found, do not use the forceps and replace them with a new pair.
- Grasp the tooth: Hold the forceps in your dominant hand with a firm but comfortable grip. Position the beak tips of the forceps around the root of the tooth you want to extract.
- Apply controlled pressure: Apply gentle and controlled pressure on the root of the tooth, directing the force towards the root surface.
- Utilize a rocking motion: Use a rocking motion to loosen the tooth from its socket. Apply a combination of inward and outward movements to dislodge the root.
- Exert extraction force: Gradually increase the force while maintaining control and stability. Apply consistent and controlled force to extract the tooth from the socket.
- Remove the tooth: Once the tooth is sufficiently loosened, lift and remove it from the socket using the forceps. Ensure a steady grip to prevent any accidental damage or displacement.
- Inspect and clean: Examine the extracted tooth to ensure it is intact and free from any fragments. If necessary, clean the extraction site with an appropriate irrigating solution.
- Provide post-extraction care: Give post-extraction instructions to the patient, including guidelines on oral hygiene and potential discomfort management. Schedule a follow-up appointment, if necessary, to monitor the healing process.
