• Preparation: Before starting, ensure that the plier is clean and free from any debris or residues. Also, make sure that the archwire you’re contouring is the correct size and type for the patient’s treatment plan.

• Positioning: Hold the plier in your dominant hand with a comfortable grip, ensuring good control over the instrument.

• Prepare the Archwire: Insert the section of the archwire that needs contouring into the jaws of the plier. Position it so that it aligns with the guiding grooves on the plier’s jaws.
