- 2 Crowns in a pack
Direction to Use
- Preparation: Ensure that the tooth requiring the crown is appropriately prepared. This may involve removing any decayed or damaged tooth structure and creating a suitable tooth shape for crown placement.
- Crown Selection: Choose the appropriate size of the stainless steel crown that matches the dimensions of the prepared tooth. Crown selection is critical for a proper fit.
- Crown Contouring: Examine the crown to ensure it has the correct anatomical contour for the specific molar it will cover. Minimal adjustment should be needed to achieve a natural fit.
- Crown Crimping: Check the crown’s pre-crimped cervical margin for retention. This helps secure the crown in place during placement.
- Cementation: Apply a dental cement that is compatible with stainless steel crowns to the prepared tooth and the inside of the crown.
- Crown Placement: Carefully place the crown over the prepared tooth, making sure it fits snugly and securely. Apply gentle pressure to ensure proper seating.
- Excess Cement Removal: Remove any excess cement that may have squeezed out from under the crown.
- Occlusion Check: Verify that the crown does not interfere with the patient’s bite and that it aligns properly with the adjacent teeth.
- Post-Placement Care: Provide post-placement care instructions to the patient or caregiver, including oral hygiene recommendations and any restrictions on eating or chewing.
- Follow-Up: Schedule a follow-up appointment to check the crown’s stability and ensure it remains in place and functional.
